Bangkok's cloth is not on Sukhumvit. It is in Pahurat and Chinatown: wholesale lanes, an indoor fabric mall, and one proper shop on Song Wat that we send guests to first.
Walk the district in the morning. Buy in the afternoon, once you have seen what the street actually costs. Then take the metres to a cutter who will work with cloth you bring, not only with a book of mill swatches.
This is that loop: Fabricity as the prime stop, Pahurat for lace and bridal, ChinaWorld if you want five floors under one roof, Sampeng for trims, and ENDEL or LALEDA on Rama 4 when you are ready to cut.
The short version

Why Pahurat and Chinatown, not a mall
Pahurat (Phahurat on many maps) is Bangkok's Indian cloth quarter, a short walk west of Yaowarat. Chinatown next door is wholesale: Sampeng Lane for trims and cheap runs, Song Wat for the river shophouses that still trade. Together they are the city's fabric district. Emporium will sell you a finished dress. This corner sells you the metres.
The rule is the same as the food street: walk once without buying. Quality and price jump stall to stall. A bolt that looks identical two doors down can be a different weight and a different number. Feel it. Ask the width. Ask how it washes. Then go back.
MRT Sam Yot drops you at Pahurat. MRT Wat Mangkon drops you at Yaowarat and Sampeng. Arawana Express Chinatown sits on that loop, so you are not taxiing bolts across the city at 4pm.

Fabricity is at 469 Song Wat Road, on the river side of Chinatown, a short walk from Ratchawong Pier. It is the offshoot of Thai Punjab Textiles, founded in 1909. The family still trades cloth. The shop does not feel like 1909.
Start here if you want a named house rather than a stall. They specialise in 100% rayon: printing, dyeing, and made-up pieces. The floor also runs cotton and polyester, and they will talk you through a digital print if you arrive with a pattern. Bolts are sold by the metre. Song Wat is the right street for this: old trading shophouses, coffee, and cloth on the same block. You can do Fabricity, then walk toward Pahurat and ChinaWorld without getting in a car.

Pahurat, for lace, beads and bridal
Pahurat is Little India, five to ten minutes on foot from ChinaWorld and from MRT Sam Yot. The lanes around Phahurat Road are where you hunt lace, beaded and sequined cloth, sari silks, and bridal fabric by the metre, usually cheaper than a Sukhumvit shop will quote for the same sparkle.
It is not a boutique. It is a market. Cash helps. Shopkeepers expect you to look, to compare, and to buy in metres, not in vibes. If you are making an evening gown or a wedding dress with a lot of surface, start here after Fabricity, not instead of it.
Old Siam Plaza sits on the same walk if you want handwoven Thai silk and cotton with a traditional pattern. That is a different errand: heritage cloth, not a full day of wholesale.

Where to stay
Arawana Express Chinatown
If the fabric loop is the day, stay at Arawana Express Chinatown. Yaowarat, Sampeng, Song Wat and Pahurat are a walk, not a taxi with bolts on your lap.
ChinaWorld is the indoor version of the same district: 677 Chakkraphet Road, just past Yaowarat toward Pahurat, a short walk from MRT Sam Yot. Several floors of independent vendors. Cotton, silk, linen, wool, trims. Walk the building before you buy. Prices and quality shift stall to stall, including inside the same mall.
If you need imported Italian silk for an evening piece, ask for Gandhi / Cynosure on the ground floor. That is a different budget: good bolts can run into the thousands of baht per metre. Feel the drape. It is not Thai silk, and it is not a Fabricity rayon print.
Block a morning, not twenty minutes. There is no useful map of every stall. The method is the walk.

Sampeng Lane, for trims and quantity
Sampeng Lane (Soi Wanit 1) runs parallel to Yaowarat, between Ratchawong and Chakrawat. It is the wholesale crush: ribbons, buttons, zips, beads, cheap fabric by the roll. MRT Wat Mangkon is the drop. Go early, before the lane fills.
This is not where you fall in love with a cloth. This is where you finish a garment: the zip that matches, five metres of the same cotton, a bag of buttons. Mostly cash. Watch your bag. One loop is enough.
Stay at Express Chinatown so you can dump the bags and go back out. Doing Sampeng from Sukhumvit with armfuls of bolts is a bad afternoon.

Cloth is only useful if someone will cut it. On Rama 4, near Sukhumvit 24, two ateliers share a block and not a pattern book. ENDEL Tailor is the men's house: named mills, half-canvas as standard, cut and sewn on site. LALEDA Tailor & Dressmaker has been women-only since 1989. They will work with cloth you bring from Pahurat or Fabricity, or you can choose from theirs.
Do not land at either house with a bag of mystery polyester and a 24-hour deadline. Message them with what you bought, what you want made, and your dates. A first visit is 30 to 45 minutes. A typical ENDEL suit wants two to three weeks. Most LALEDA dresses and suits take one to two weeks and two visits. Four nights is a shirt or an alteration, not a jacket.

Ways to string it together
One fabric morning from Express Chinatown
Walk it. Do not taxi the bolts until you are done.
- After breakfast: walk or hop to Song Wat. Fabricity first, 469 Song Wat Road.
- Then Pahurat and ChinaWorld, MRT Sam Yot if you are tired of the pavement.
- Sampeng last, and only for trims. Back to Express Chinatown to drop the bags.
- If a cutter is next: message ENDEL or LALEDA with photos of the cloth, and go to Rama 4 another morning.
Cloth today, fitting this stay
Only if you have the days the ateliers actually need.
- Day 1: fabric loop from Express Chinatown. Photograph every bolt and keep the receipts.
- Evening: send the photos to ENDEL (men) or LALEDA (women) with dates and what you want made.
- Day 2: first visit on Rama 4. Stay or move to Regency Park so the second visit is a hop, not a crossing.
- Leave a canvassed jacket unless you have two to three weeks.

- Pahurat and Sampeng are easier before the heat and the wholesale crush. Fabricity first, while you still have patience for a proper shop. Markets after.
- Cash, metres, width
- Ask the width of the bolt (often 44 or 58 inches) and how it washes. Buy metres, not 'enough for a dress' as a vibe. Small bills help in the lanes. Fabricity can run more like a shop; the market is cash.
- How much cloth
- A simple dress is often 2 to 3 metres, a shirt about 1.5, a suit several more plus lining. If LALEDA or ENDEL are cutting it, message them the width and a photo of the bolt before you buy extra 'just in case'.
- Two bases, or one
- Express Chinatown for the fabric loop. Regency Park on Sukhumvit 22 if you are also doing fittings on Rama 4. Doing both from one hotel is a long, hot day with bags. Split it if you can.
