Arawana Regency South Pattaya is a 4-star hotel on South Pattaya Road, at the busier end of the bay. It suits guests who come for the nightlife, the markets and island trips: Walking Street, where Beach Road ends, is about 1.5 km (a 21-minute walk), and Bali Hai Pier, for the boats to Koh Larn, about 2.2 km (30 minutes).
- Getting around: Central Pattaya on Beach Road is about 2.3 km on foot (31 minutes) and the Pattaya Viewpoint on Pratamnak Hill about 2.4 km (32 minutes); a songthaew is the easy way to both.
- Airport: U-Tapao is around 34 km away.
- From Bangkok: From Bangkok the road is usually about two hours, longer on a Friday evening or a holiday weekend.

Central Festival Pattaya Beach
A large beachfront shopping mall on Beach Road with hundreds of stores, restaurants and a cinema overlooking the Gulf of Thailand, the Hilton stacked above.
About 2.3 km north: a 31-minute walk once the sun is down, or an easy songthaew ride.
Underwater World Pattaya
A walk-through tunnel and tanks of sharks, rays and tropical fish, out on Sukhumvit Road. A good hour out of the heat.
About 6 km by road, a short taxi or songthaew ride.
Walking Street
Pattaya's best-known strip, running off the south end of Beach Road: bars, clubs, live music and seafood restaurants, all of it loud. Being able to walk back from it is rather the point of staying at this end.
About 1.5 km, a 21-minute walk.
Bali Hai Pier
The main pier at the southern tip of Walking Street, where ferries and speedboats leave for Koh Larn and the islands beyond. An evening market sets up alongside it.
About 2.2 km, a 30-minute walk.
Pattaya Viewpoint (Pratamnak Hill)
A hilltop lookout between South Pattaya and Jomtien, with the whole bay and the city sign laid out below. Best in the last hour of light.
About 2.4 km, a 32-minute walk uphill, or a short taxi or songthaew ride.
The Glass House
A beachfront restaurant on Soi Na Jomtien 10, glass walls and the bay in front of you. Thai cooking and seafood, open 11:00 to midnight.
About 12 km south by road.
