北パタヤ：湾の、静かな側

北パタヤは湾の上側です。遊歩道は静かで、夜は過ごしやすく、Terminal 21 Pattaya 周辺のモールも使えます。パタヤではありますが、南端のように窓の外が夜通し夜市、という感じではありません。

家族、カップル、潮風は欲しいがパーティー日程はいらないバンコクの週末客は、こちらを好みがちです。Walking Street が来た理由なら南に泊まり、北はビーチの時間に残してください。

交換ははっきりしています。玄関先の Walking Street を手放し、10メートルごとに声をかけられない夜の散歩を得ます。

Wong Amat は、歩くにも泳ぐにも、きれいめの静かな区間です。北パタヤビーチは、いちばん密度の高い人混みに入らず日没を見られます。週末に場所が欲しいなら、もっと早く行ってください。

水を持ち、暑さを見込んで、ビーチは一日の一部にしてください。一日中焼く場所ではありません。Regency North Pattaya のプールがあるのは、そのためです。

どちらのビーチも絵葉書の碧い海ではありません。どちらも、午前をちゃんと過ごせる街のビーチです。この湾岸の多くは、それで妥当です。

Terminal 21 Pattaya が、今の買い物と頼れるフードコートを支えます。雨の日に特に役立ちます。Central Marina と地元のプラザで用事は足ります。薬局も、簡単な夕食も、なくなりません。

変化が欲しいなら、中パタヤまで短く乗れば足ります。そこに泊まらなくても、夜のひとつは使えます。

GEMS Gallery と Pattaya Nuea Road の小さな店が、2つのモールのあいだを埋めます。1時間だけ見て、買い物の一日にはしたくないときに向きます。

The one genuinely remarkable thing at this end of the bay is the Sanctuary of Truth, a vast wooden building on the headland at Naklua, carved inside and out and still unfinished after decades of work. It is entirely teak, held together largely with wooden joinery, and it is nothing like anything else in the country.

Go in the morning, before the heat and before the tour groups. It is an outdoor site with a lot of standing and looking upward, and the light is better early. There is a dress code, as at any temple site, so cover shoulders and knees.

Combine it with Lan Pho Na Kluea market, which is a few minutes away and is where locals buy seafood. It is dramatically better value than the restaurants along the tourist strip, and late afternoon is when it is at its best. Between the two you have a proper half day without leaving the north end.

Regency North Pattaya：フルサービスの拠点で、プールがあり、部屋はカップルと家族に足ります。Express North：寝る場所と立地が主なら、より単純な料金です。Regency South：夜が賑やかな南湾まわりのときです。

バンコクから陸路は1.5〜2時間を見てください。祝日の週末はもっとかかります。黄昏前に着けるなら、着けてください。

南パタヤは、同じ問いに対する賑やかな答えです。同じ湾、バンコクからの距離も同じ。ただし Walking Street と Beach Road まわりで、北の静かな遊歩道ではありません。
